Bourse index posts weekly gains of 12.59 pct

Friday’s bourse session produced less volatility and action compared with the rest of the week, with the benchmark index virtually unchanged and rising stocks outnumbering their southbound counterparts.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 926.55 points, giving up 0.04 percent from Thursday’s 926.91 points, but posting considerable weekly gains of 12.59 percent.

The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX-25 shed 0.50 percent on Friday to end at 303.83 points.

With Eurobank (down 7.41 percent) and National (down 6.52 percent) posting a predictable correction, Ellaktor led the blue chips, adding 8.20 percent.

In total 74 stocks posted gains, 58 suffered losses and 31 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 57.7 million euros, down from Thursday’s 66.1 million.
