Marketing Greece launch offers support from experts

The tourism industry now has its own company for promoting the country as a holiday destination following the launch on Monday of Marketing Greece SA, a joint venture made up of travel agents, hoteliers and advertisers aimed at supporting the state’s effort to sell Greece to foreigners.

“The planning and the realization of Marketing Greece constitutes a point of reference for tourism and its enterprises in this country,” stated the head of the new nonprofit company, Andreas Andreadis. He is also the head of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE), which has partnered up with the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and the Hellenic Association of Advertising-Communication Agencies (EDEE) to set up this financially autonomous venture.

The five pillars that Marketing Greece’s strategy will be based on are the setup of an interactive website, the creation of a public affairs network in the main markets of Greek tourism, the production of promotional content for websites, forums, social media etc, organization of and participation at tourism fairs, and the supply of advisory services to the state, the local authorities and the enterprises in the industry regarding research in target markets and the planning of tourism products.
