EU seeks industry views on Aegean Airlines’ bid for Olympic Air

The European Commission said it is seeking views from rivals on Aegean Airlines SA’s renewed bid to buy Olympic Air and form Greece’s biggest carrier, as part of an in-depth probe into the proposed acquisition.

The commission, the European Union’s antitrust regulator, last week started an in-depth probe of the planned deal “after finding that the notified concentration raises serious doubts as to its compatibility” with the bloc’s competition rules, the Brussels-based commission said today on its website.

Industry and other interested parties have 15 days to submit their views if they are to be “fully taken into account in the procedure,” the commission said.
