Holidays, excursions and entertainment vouchers for farmers

Farmers in Greece will benefit from new social tourism and recreation programs announced on Monday by Labor Minister Yiannis Vroutsis and Dimitris Kontos, the director of the Agricultural Insurance Organization (OGA).

Some 120,000 farmers will be eligible to participate in the social tourism programs that provide subsidized holidays in Greece, another 10,000 can take part in the excursions program and over 400,000 will be entitled to vouchers for books and theater performances.

The submission of applications for participation begins today at Citizens Service Centers (KEP) and ends on June 14.

After the applications are processed, a draw will follow if there are more applications than places available.

The tourism packages comprise six-day holidays in various locations around Greece, which are either free or partly subsidized.
