Greece’s Turnover Index in Industry down 11.5% y-o-y in March

The Turnover Index in Industry in March fell by 11.5 percent compared to a year earlier, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Monday.

ELSTAT said that the drop was mainly down to a 51.1 percent decline in turnover in the mining and quarrying sector, while manufacturing turnover also fell by 10.7 percent.

The Turnover Index in Industry for the domestic market decreased by 21.6 percent but for the non-domestic market rose by 3.8 percent.

“The average Turnover Index in Industry for the 12-month period from April 2012 to March 2013, as compared to the 12-month period from April 2011 to March 2012, decreased by 0.2%,” added ELSTAT.
