Spalathronisi to become first Greek island to go under the hammer

Spalathronisi, an island situated in Neo Marmara in Chalkidiki, northern Greece, is expected to become the first Greek island to go under the hammer.

The auction is scheduled to take place in September and the island’s starting price is expected to be set at 10 million euros. The property, the largest of the Spalathronisia complex, is situated opposite Marmaras.

The sale was announced by Myro Antiques House owner Stavros Myronidis at a press conference on Wednesday. According to Myronidis the auction would reduce red tape regarding the property’s sale. He also noted that the upcoming sale had already attracted interest from both local and international buyers.

Meanwhile, a “buy it now option” was expected to run to August 20.
