Greek stocks post gains for sixth straight day

Greek stocks edged higher for a sixth straight day in thin trade on Wednesday.

The Athens Exchange general index rose 0.02 percent, closing at 925.95 points, and with cumulative gains of 15.61 percent since the July 15 lows.

Large-caps ended 0.26 percent higher, mainly on 1.59 percent gains for National Bank to 2.55 euros, 1.29 percent for betting firm OPAP to 7.09 euros and 1.08 percent for Alpha Bank warrants to 0.84 euros.

OTE shed 2.10 percent to close at 7 euros after recent respectable gains.

PPC was down 1.43 percent to 7.60 euros.

Decliners outnumbered winners by 83 to 47.

Turnover came to 30.23 million.
