FinMin asks bankers to support internal affairs probe of 436 officials

Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras on Friday sent a letter to the heads of the Hellenic Bank Association and to the Association of Greek Cooperative Banks, Giorgos Zanias and Nikolaos Myrtakis respectively, asking them to respond to requests by the ministry’s internal affairs department for data relating to 436 officials.

In the letter, Stournaras asked the two banking group chiefs to «prioritize» the internal affairs’ service appeals, noting that the chief goal of the department is the «self-catharsis of the ministry and the restoration of citizens’ trust in public administration.”
