Local stocks continue to creep higher

The Greek bourse’s benchmark index continued on Thursday on its modest growth trajectory, albeit on reduced turnover, which suggests investors are waiting for developments.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,028.58 points, adding 0.84 percent to Wednesday’s 1,020.04 points. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 expanded 0.43 percent to end at 347.39 points, yet once again the small-cap index begged to differ, declining 0.27 percent.

Terna Energy stood out, growing by 5.40 percent, while Coca-Cola HBC gave up 2.07 percent.

In total 76 stocks posted gains, 38 suffered losses and 29 stayed put.

Turnover amounted to 44.6 million euros, against Wednesday’s 64.2 million.
