Stock growth continues on healthy turnover
The sixth consecutive session of gains on the Greek bourse on Thursday – with the benchmark index enjoying total gains of 11.13 percent – saw banks back in the driver’s seat and daily turnover steadying itself at well above 100 million euros, reaching 131 million, up from Wednesday’s 105.3 million.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,124.28 points, growing by 1.13 percent from Wednesday’s 1,111.71 points. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 expanded by 1.19 percent to end at 373.68 points.
Piraeus Bank added 5.63 percent and Hellenic Exchanges increased by 5.15 percent. Corinth Pipeworks fell by 3.95 percent.
In total, 88 stocks rose, 53 dropped and 25 stayed put.
