Greek supermarket chain Sklavenitis eyes third buyout this year

Greek supermarket chain I&S Sklavenitis SA is planning its third round of acquisitions this year with an application to the Competition Commission to buy out nine stores of the Extra Prota chain currently under consideration, local daily Naftemboriki reported on Tuesday.

Sklavenitis will also be going ahead with the expansion of its network outside Attica, as management is reportedly in the process of clinching a verbal agreement for a property in Corinth.

Within Attica, the Greek supermarket chain this year has already increased its network by nine outlets with the acquisition of four stores from Doukas and five supermarkets from Balaskas.
