Minimal decline for ATHEX on gains consolidation

There were no major surprises in the composition of the MSCI index concerning Greek stocks, so Friday’s bourse session served mostly for investors cashing in short-term gains.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,169.04 points, shedding 0.17 percent from Thursday’s 1,171.06 points. On a weekly basis it lost 0.74 percent.

The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 contracted by 0.24 percent to end at 389.17 points, while mid-caps climbed by 0.98 percent.

Frigoglass and Ellaktor outperformed with gains of 3.54 percent and 3.23 percent respectively, while Titan gave up 5.39 percent.

In total 67 stocks expanded, 55 declined and 22 stayed put.

Turnover amounted to 119.6 million euros, up from Thursday’s 91.8 million.
