Benchmark index posts marginal increase on late buying
The local bourse managed to post marginal monthly gains at the end of November’s final session thanks to a surge in buying interest during the last hour of trading. The monthly rise came to just 0.63 percent, following October’s major growth.
The ATHEX general index closed at 1,195.68 points, rising 1.26 percent from Thursday’s 1,180.77 points. On a weekly basis it chalked up gains of 2.26 percent. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 expanded 0.99 percent to end at 395.20 points.
Terna Energy outperformed with a 6.27 increase, while Eurobank Properties contracted by 2.25 percent.
In total 67 stocks went up, 64 declined and 19 stayed put.
Turnover amounted to 99 million euros, up from Thursday’s 69.1 million.
