More bourse losses after Moody’s move

The benchmark of the Greek bourse lost its grip on the 1,200-level on Thursday following Moody’s decision to keep the local stock market in the high-risk C category.

The ATHEX general index closed at 1,190.31 points, shedding 1.77 percent from Wednesday’s 1,211.77 points.

The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 contracted 2 percent to end at 390.06 points, although the mid-cap index enjoyed gains of 0.67 percent.

Marfin Investment Group outperformed with growth of 2.63 percent while Intralot climbed 0.51 percent. Folli Follie conceded 3.94 percent and Hellenic Petroleum slid 3.64 percent.

In total 64 stocks posted gains, 75 sustained losses and 21 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 73.6 million euros, the lowest in the last five sessions, down from Wednesday’s 111.3 million.
