TANKERS Quiet start to the week with the Aframaxes in the Med. being fixed at W/S 135-137.5, while in the Cont. at W/S 130. – Caribs market steady with the 70,000-ton cargoes at W/S 120. – In the Med., BP has fixed M/T «Alfa Italia» for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading July 18, discharging Med. at W/S 150. – In the Cont., CSSA for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading July 23 N. Sea, discharging UKC, has fixed M/T «Molda» at W/S 132.5. – In Caribs, Premuda has fixed M/T «St Nicholas» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading July 22 Venezuela, discharging Italy at W/S 100. – In W. Africa, BP for 130,000 tons of cargo, loading August 6, discharging US Gulf has fixed M/T «SCF Khibiny» at W/S 75. – In Arabian Gulf, Vela has fixed M/T «Marine Atlantic» for 285,000 tons of cargo, loading August 1, discharging US Gulf at W/S 45. DRY CARGO Latest fixtures are as follows: – On Panamax in Far East, Augustea has fixed M/V «Talisman,» 73,670 dwt, built 1993, delivery UKC July 15-17 for 2-3 legs, redelivery Far East at USD 19,250 daily, option redelivery UKC/Med. at USD 17,500 daily. – In the Atlantic, Navios has fixed M/V «Lacerta,» 71,862 dwt, built 1994, delivery Belgium mid-July, trip via US Gulf, redelivery Japan, at USD 19,250 daily. – On smaller sizes, MUR has fixed M/V «Sanko Royal,» 42,500 dwt, built 1995, delivery S. Africa July 25-31, redelivery Med., at USD 12,850 daily. – On coal cargoes, Portline for 150,000 tons of cargo, loading Colombia August 10-19, discharging Portugal, has been fixed at USD 9.25 per ton with 50,000-ton load and 30,000 tons discharge.
