Ministry may halve fines for delayed VAT declarations

The Finance Ministry is considering reductions of up to 50 percent to fines for the overdue submission of value added tax declarations by Greek businesses, reports said on Friday.

The ministry is also said to be mulling the imposition of a ceiling of 1,000 euros on fines imposed for businesses that fail to issue receipts.

A circular with details of the changes is expected to be issued in due course, the same reports said on Friday.
