Joint program by GNTO and TUI to promote Greece abroad

The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has joined forces this year with TUI Travel Plc to create a program to promote and advertise Greece as a holiday destination in 12 European countries where the group is active.

GNTO will invest 920,000 euros to cover 50 percent of the program’s cost, with the rest being covered by TUI. The 1.84-million-euro program will promote Greece in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Poland and Switzerland.

At an annual meeting of TUI associates in Greece, senior officials from the German branch of the travel group stated that the number of tourists it will bring over to Greece from Germany in 2014 will be at least 10 percent higher than last year, as Greece remains among the top 10 tourism destinations for the German market. They added that the Greek economy’s recovery allows TUI to promote Greece much more efficiently in Germany.
