Extension granted for income tax statements

The Finance Ministry granted on Friday a two-week extension for the electronic submission of income tax declarations, so the new deadline for some 2 million taxpayers who are yet to submit their statements is July 14.

The original deadline was for June 30.

The ministry has underlined that the time of submission has no bearing on the deadline for the payment of the tax, with its first tranche still being payable by July 31. The second is due by end-September and the third by end-November.

To date, no more than 3.9 million declarations have been submitted via the ministry’s online platform.
