Hotel licenses to be granted within 50 days

A draft law by the Tourism Development Ministry, discussed on Monday by a special parliamentary committee, will speed up the licensing process for tourism accommodation units, setting a limit of 50 days from the day the application is submitted.

It also settles town-planning violations concerning the ski resorts on Parnassos and Ziria as well as at Anogia and Chrysso Elafi Imathias, and allows hotels with at least 150 beds on 46 islands (in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese) to build wooden piers into the sea in front of their buildings.

The bill further includes heavy fines for illegal camping.
