First step toward transformation of Athenian Riviera
The first step toward the rejuvenation of the so-called Athens Riviera was taken on Tuesday with the transfer of 20 properties covering a total of of 3.64 square kilometers to special purpose company Attica Coastline SA.
This paves the way for an international tender in October, so that the contractor will be able to get to work at the locations between Piraeus and Anavyssos in southern Attica by May 2015.
Among the properties conceded to the state company are installations used during the 2004 Olympic Games such as the Faliro Sports Hall (pictured) and the Olympic Beach Volleyball Center.
