Elliniko project to proceed to next steps

Following the State Audit Council’s favorable verdict last week, Lamda Development and Global Investment Group can now proceed to the next steps toward completing the acquisition of the company set up to develop the old international airport at Elliniko, southern Athens.

An environmental effects study for the project, set to include a metropolitan park as seen in this artist’s impression, must be submitted to the Council of State, and once the land usage is approved, a presidential decree will be issued.

This must be followed by Parliament’s approval.

Work at the site will not start before 2016.
