Saudi prince confirms investment interest

Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal reiterated his interest in investing in Greece during a meeting with Greek Deputy Development Minister Notis Mitarakis and “Enterprise Greece” Chief Executive Officer Stefanos Isaias on Monday in Riyadh, according to reports.

Mitarakis also met with a group of entrepreneurs and investors at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Riyadh as well as with the Greek-Saudi Friendship parliamentary committee.

Potential investors from Saudi Arabia are interested in placing funds in the Greek housing sector, on the private building market, or in participating in groups of foreign investors making plans for the acquisition of major hotel complexes or other luxury holiday accommodation and housing complexes up for sale.

Interest has also been expressed in the domain of energy and its various alternative forms. The sectors where Greek enterprises could be active in Saudi Arabia are construction, energy and alternative forms of energy, as well as the food domain.
