Hardouvelis sees troika chiefs returning to Greece in early January

Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis suggested on Monday that the heads of the troika mission in Greece would return to Athens in early January.

Following a meeting with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, Hardouvelis said that the troika chiefs should be back in Greece in the first 10 days of next month. The aim is for the pending review of the Greek adjustment program to be completed in time for the Eurogroup on January 26.

The finance minister also suggested that the differences between the two sides on the fiscal gap for next year, which the troika estimates at close to 2 billion euros, are closing.
