SEV calls for a national strategy on the economy

A few hours after the second vote for a new president in Parliament on Tuesday, industrialists called on political parties to reach a national consensus on four key points.

The intervention by the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) calls for the establishment of a high-standard national committee for the negotiation of the national debt, a party agreement on the next parliament’s constitutional reform, a commitment by the major political forces to make sure the country remains an integral part of the eurozone, and the utilization of European facilities (ECB liquidity, EU investment program) for the growth of the economy based on private initiative.

This “national strategy on the economy” is the result of a broader agreement in the business world due to the recent political upheaval and because the parties appear to be completely ignoring the economy and businesses, the SEV statement suggested.
