OAED subsidy for year-round jobs at hotels

A new Manpower Organization (OAED) program offers to subsidize hotel enterprises so that they can retain their staff during the winter period.

The ministerial decision, which has already been published in the Official Government Gazette, also includes the conditions and documents required for hotels in summer resorts that have decided to stay open from November 1 last year through February 28, 2015.

All kinds of hotel enterprises operating outside Athens and Thessaloniki are eligible for the subsidy, as long as they are licensed by the Greek National Tourism Organization and are usually only open during the summer, having shut down in the period from November 1 to February 28 during at least two of the five previous winters.

This excludes hotel enterprises that have already entered a program to retain jobs in the winter months and those that only opened a few months earlier.

Hotels whose staff were employed in other units for the 12 consecutive months preceding November 1, 2014, are also ineligible for the OAED subsidies.
