Tense bourse session ends in mixed picture

Greek stocks ended a tense day on Friday with mixed results but trading volume was significant for yet another day, as all eyes were fixed on negotiations in Brussels.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 854.15 points, shedding 0.27 percent from Thursday’s 856.50 points. On a weekly basis it gave up 4.46 percent. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 index contracted 0.16 percent to end at 253.66 points.

National Bank climbed 6.67 percent, Piraeus Port Authority added 4.21 percent and OTE telecom advanced 3.47 percent.

Eurobank had the biggest losses (down 6.25 percent), while Jumbo lost 4.34 percent and Folli Follie fell 3.98 percent.

In total 55 stocks rose, 65 declined and 23 stayed put.

Turnover reached 212 million euros, down from Thursday’s 267.2 million.
