Deposits in Greek banks fall by 12 bln euros in January, ECB data shows

The level of deposits in Greek banks fell by 12.2 billion euros ($13.8 billion) to 155.4 billion euros in January, data from the European Central Bank showed on Thursday.

The sharp drop in Greece contrasted sharply with the broadly steady level of deposits in other euro zone countries and took deposits in Greece to a low level last approached in the middle of 2012, according to the data.
