Greek finance minister heads to Paris

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis will be traveling to Paris on Wednesday, the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency reported.

Varoufakis is said to be planning a meeting with his French counterpart, Michel Sapin, as well as with Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General Jose Angel Gurria.

The OECD has been advising Greece on structural reforms and measures to boost its flagging economy’s competitiveness.

On Monday Varoufakis said he is hoping for negotiations with the country’s official lenders to reach a preliminary deal at an April 24 meeting of eurozone finance ministers.
