Second Med Yacht Show in Nafplio

The historic city of Nafplio, in the eastern Peloponnese, is set to host next month’s 2nd Mediterranean Yacht Show, organized by the Greek Yachting Association, thus establishing itself as a destination on the Greek yachting map, as Nafplio Mayor Dimitris Kostouros stated on Thursday during a presentation for the event.

The show will take place on May 2-6 and is aimed at yachting professionals. The head of the Argolida Port Authority, Spyros Marinos, told Thursday’s press conference that there will be more than 65 yachts participating in this year’s show, with over 200 specialized yacht brokers anticipated.

Kostouros added that last year’s first show was so successful that it led to a 40 percent increase to the number of yachts that visited the former capital of Greece last year, compared with 2013.

The organizers noted that some of the world’s leading professionals in the sector will be visiting Nafplio to inspect yachts, meet with crews and talk business during the course of the show, as the success of the 2014 event has placed it among the world’s top shows in the industry.
