Metaxa holds up its Greek origins
Spyros Ghikas (right), managing director of beverages manufacturer Metaxa International, receives the Excellency Award for Culture from Antonis Gortzis, president of the Hellenic Advertisers Association (HAA) at an event on Tuesday. Metaxa International was honored for its contribution to the worldwide promotion of Greece through META, an international communications campaign launched last summer. The distinction was part of HAA’s annual Social Responsibility Awards. According to the October issue of The Global Drinks Record, Metaxa maintained its No.1 position in its category in the duty-free market worldwide, and was No. 23 among all spirit drinks in the world. Metaxa 7* brandy is reported among the top 30 fastest growing products in the international duty-free market.
