Athens Airport extends airline incentives into the summer

Athens International Airport is extending an incentive scheme aimed at encouraging airlines to use the country’s main terminal during the winter into the summer, in an effort to achieve sustainable growth.

AIA will offer subsidies of 7 to 11 euros per passenger on flights to Athens with an occupancy rate of 80 percent, provided the airlines do not curtail their number of flights, and to flights that increase the number of transfer passengers compared to last summer.

It will also offer a 10 percent discount on landing fees and parking charges for airlines that do not reduce the number of flights from last summer’s levels.
