Retail stores free to open on Sunday as part of autumn sales

Stores in Greece will be able to open on Sunday, November 1, if owners choose to do so as it will mark the first day of the autumn sales period.

The National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce (ESEE) wrote to its members on Monday to inform them of the beginning of the 10-day sales period on Sunday and that they could opt to open. Retail stores in Greece are usually closed on Sundays.

Those that choose to open on Sunday can do so from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
