Loutraki Casino forced to temporarily shut down

The Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP) on Thursday issued an order for the temporary closure of Loutraki Casino for not complying with a court decision ordering the casino to immediately pay taxes of 1.8 million euros due over the last three months.

The casino acknowledged its debt and promised to settle it by late Thursday. EEEP said it would await confirmation of the payment to allow the casino to reopen.

The casino was said to be still trying to collect the amount required late on Thursday night.

Loutraki Casino had disputed the imposition of the 13 percent Gross Gaming Revenues Tax (GGR Tax), but a court decision in July ruled against it.
