ATHEX: Stock growth continues
The Greek bourse posted fresh gains on Thursday, as did most European markets in response to the US Federal Reserve’s interest rate hike.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 622.23 points, adding 3.50 percent to Wednesday’s 601.20 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index expanded 3.51 percent to end at 181.97 points.
OPAP and Hellenic Exchanges outperformed, growing 7.59 percent and 7.32 percent respectively. Motor Oil fell 3.56 percent.
In total 71 stocks advanced, 31 contracted and 14 stayed put.
Turnover reached 260 million euros, against Wednesday’s 471.2 million.
