Three small industries shut down in Thessaloniki every day
An average of three small industrial or manufacturing companies in Greece’s second-largest city have shut down every day this year, according to the Thessaloniki Chamber of Small and Medium-Sized Industries.
Its data show that in the year to December 16, 1,075 enterprises were written off its register.
While this constitutes an improvement from the 1,365 enterprises that were removed from the register in the same period last year, it also points to the fact that the northern port city’s business map is simply a lot less busy.
New entries on the register amounted to 255 this year, against 383 in 2014.
