Fresh growth in tourism from Germany expected in 2016
German tour operators expect Greek tourism’s momentum to continue next year, and are boosting packages for Greece as well as air seat and hotel bed availability.
This means the Germans are anticipating further growth in the flow of holidaymakers to Greece for 2016, despite strong competition from Turkey, which has been targeting the German market with offers and advertising in a bid to offset its Russian losses.
In April-October 2015 departures from German airports to Greek islands posted a year-on-year rise of 6.2 percent, the Federal Statistical Office of Germany has found.
