NBG to approve sale of Finansbank on January 18

National Bank of Greece stakeholders will be asked to approve the sale of almost 100 percent of the group’s Turkish subsidiary Finansbank at the Greek lender’s extraordinary general meeting to take place on January 18.

Qatar National Bank will take over Finansbank.

The agreement with QNB also provides for the transfer of the stake that National holds in Turkey’s Finans Leasing – amounting to 29.87 percent – upon the completion of the Finansbank transaction.

The price agreed on amounts to 2.75 billion euros in cash.
