Chipita to expand production to Malaysia

Athens-based food company Chipita will expand its production to Malaysia.

A few days ago it agreed on the creation of a consortium with the Southeast Asian country’s biggest biscuit producer, Munchy’s.

The objective of the consortium, in which Chipita has a 40 percent stake, is the creation of a croissant-producing unit.

The Greek firm is also close to deciding to construct another factory in Europe, costing 20 million euros and implemented exclusively by Chipita.

Today its products are made at 19 plants, including the one pictured here, in Russia.
