Visitors from Russia set to reach up to 1 million this year

Russian tourists in Greece this year will reach the 1 million mark, according to the head of Russia’s Federal Agency for Tourism, Oleg Safonov.
Addressing a Greek-Russian tourism forum titled "Reality and Prospects for Cooperation in the Tourism Sector," Safonov said on Wednesday that Greece is the top destination this month in summer bookings from the Russian market.
Alternate Minister for Tourism Elena Kountoura also expressed confidence that the tourism flow from Russia will post an increase this year, after dipping in 2015, noting that there will soon be another Greek-Russian event on religious tourism.
