ATHEX: Thin trading, low growth

The trading volume on the Greek bourse was too low again on Thursday for stocks to make the most of the recovery seen on other European markets in harmony with oil prices.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 568.24 points, adding 0.90 percent to Wednesday’s 563.15 points. The FTSE 25 index rose 0.97 percent to end at 1,512.33 points. The banks index ended its losing streak, climbing 0.99 percent.
In total 61 stocks moved up, 29 declined and 18 stayed put.
Turnover reached 22.2 million euros, up from Wednesday’s 18.7 million.
The general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange in Nicosia advanced 0.06 percent to close at 66.18 points.
