ATHEX: Mixed day for Greek stocks

Blue chips fell while mid- and small-caps advanced on Thursday on the Greek bourse, meaning the benchmark posted a small drop but the majority of stocks climbed, on somewhat improved trading volume.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 574.22 points, shedding 0.20 percent from Wednesday’s 575.37 points. The FTSE 25 index contracted 0.56 percent to end at 1,519.12 points.

In total 51 stocks advanced, 41 declined and 20 ended unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 31.4 million euros, up from Wednesday’s 23.8 million.

The general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange in Nicosia dropped 0.24 percent, closing at 65.97 points.
