ATHEX: Notable drop for benchmark

The closing auctions added to the losses sustained by Greek stocks earlier in the day on Thursday, as December started with a notable decline for most blue chips.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 614.61 points, shedding 2.25 percent from Wednesday’s 628.75 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index contracted 2.38 percent to close at 1,664.59 points, while banks conceded 2.15 percent.
In total 33 stocks increased, 59 declined and 25 stayed put.
Turnover reached 83.9 million euros, down from Wednesday’s 180.9 million.
In Nicosia the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange climbed 0.16 percent to close at 64.58 points.
