Midseason sales windows to be expanded

The Economy and Development Ministry is set to expand the two midseason sale periods that currently last 10 days every May and November to 15 days each, and will allow for more flexibility as to their dates depending on the needs of the areas where stores are located.

Local authorities will be able to switch from two 15-day periods to three 10-day windows.

This clause will be included in a Justice Ministry bill to be tabled in Parliament in the coming days.

Meanwhile, retail stores will be allowed to open on the next couple of Sundays (the two before Christmas), December 11 and 18, as the law provides.
