ATHEX: Slight increase for benchmark
The early gains seen during on Thursday’s bourse session at Athinon Avenue had largely evaporated by the end of trade, with the benchmark closing slightly up on the day.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 739.80 points, adding 0.35 percent to Wednesday’s 737.25 points. The large-cap FTSE-26 index expanded 0.27 percent to close at 1,949.06 points, while banks added 1.71 percent.
In total 57 stocks posted gains, 42 took losses and 19 closed unchanged.
Turnover amounted to 39.4 million euros, up from Wednesday’s 38.3 million.
In Nicosia the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange slumped 1.51 percent to 72.92 points.
