First receipt lottery to take place on Thursday

The first receipt lottery (concerning electronic transactions) will take place on Thursday evening at 7.30 p.m., with 1,000 taxpayers set to win 1,000 euros each.

From Thursday morning, taxpayers should be able to obtain their personal lottery numbers via the website of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (www.aade.gr), while the winners will be notified via email.

According to an IAPR official, the authority has collected the data for transactions taxpayers made using debit and credit cards in October. Banks send the data per tax registration number (AFM) of their clients, including e-banking transactions and over-the-counter money transfers provided that the businesses involved have declared a professional account to the Finance Ministry.

The number of tickets each taxpayer receives depends on the volume of electronic transactions they have made during the year.

The same official added that the next draw will include all transactions taxpayers have made through their professional account as long as the latter has been declared.
