Nicosia to host Mediterranean oil and gas forum

Nicosia will host the 9th Mediterranean Oil and Gas Forum 2018 on March 27 and 28.

The forum, organized by US Energy Stream, will explore the development of East Mediterranean gas and its impact on the European and International gas market, and highlight the commercial agreements of American and European oil companies and independents in the Cypriot, Israeli, Egyptian and Greek gas markets.

The forum will be addressed by Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades, among others.

Specific topics on the agenda include the energy policy of the new Cypriot government, the perspective of the US State Department and government, Israeli-Cypriot and Egyptian-Cypriot-Mediterranean energy cooperation, new American and European energy investments in the Eastern Mediterranean and much more.

“The recent upstream gas discoveries in Cyprus, Israel and Egypt reflect the future growth of hydrocarbons in the region. The forum is a unique opportunity for energy leaders to engage in a productive dialogue with government decision makers and international investors,” said US Energy Stream CEO Anthony Livanios.

Other speakers at the Forum are Cyprus Energy Minister Giorgos Lakkotrypis, US Ambassador to Cyprus Kathleen Doherty, OECD coordinator at the Israeli Foreign Ministry Ron Adam, the chairman of the Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs of the Cyprus House, Averof Neofytou, US Ambssador (ret.) and non-resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council Matthew Bryza, the CEO of the Energy and Environment Holding of Qatar, Roudi Baroudi, and many more.

Seventeen countries are represented at the conference: Cyprus, Israel, Germany, Canada, Norway, Turkey, the UK, France, Egypt, Finland, Sweden, Russia, the US, Greece, Belgium, Lebanon and Qatar.
