TANKERS Market interest is still focused mainly on Aframaxes in the Med. Modern tonnage is being negotiated around W/S 225-230 for the 80,000 tons of cargoes out of the Black Sea, while the normal round-trip voyages are fixed around W/S 215-220. – Quieter conditions for Suezmaxes in the area. Rates are hovering around W/S 135-140 for the 140,000 tons of cargoes out of Black Sea. – Lukoil has fixed M/T «Sevilla Spirit» for 135,000 tons of cargo loading July 1 Russia discharging UKC/ Med. at W/S 135, while Koch for 140,000 tons of cargo loading July 1 with same destination has fixed M/T «Sea Triumph» at W/S 140. – Steady conditions in the Cont., with the 80,000 tons of cargoes been fixed at W/S 160-165. – Conoco for 80,000 tons of cargo loading June 28 N. Sea discharging UKC has fixed at W/S 165. – Caribs is weaker, with the latest fixtures of 70,000 tons round voyages around W/S 185-190. – Valero has fixed M/T «Tsunami» for 70,000 tons of cargo loading East Coast Mexico June 24 discharging US Gulf at W/S 190, while the same charterers have fixed AET tonnage loading June 29 with same destination at W/S 187.5. – VLCCs are weaker, having lost at least 5 points from last fixtures. NGT has fixed M/T «Oriental Venture» for 265,000 tons of cargo loading July 9 discharging Japan at W/S 129.5. – Quiet conditions for Suezmaxes out of W. Africa too. Sun has fixed Genmar tonnage for 130,000 tons of cargo loading July 14 discharging usac at W/S 145. DRY CARGO Another slow start to the week, although there is talk that some Capers might have been fixed or are on subjects with no further delays having been disclosed. – In the East, NCL has fixed M/V «Cape Saturn» 175,775 dwt, built 2003, delivery 1-10 July China trip via W. Australia redelivery China at USD 42,500 daily, while in the Atlantic Cargill has fixed M/V «Sanko Oasis» 161,192 dwt, built 1995, delivery July 10-20 Spain trip via Colombia redelivery UKC at USD 32,000 daily. – Panamax rates have tumbled in the Atlantic, with round-trip voyages barely in the high teens for modern tonnage. – Bunge has fixed M/V «Aleslevada» 70,366 dwt, built 1990, delivery Spain end June for 2 legs redelivery UKC-Med. at USD 17,000 daily, while Cobelfret has fixed M/V «Fu Man» 71,349 dwt, built 1997, delivery end June UKC for 2 legs redelivery UKC-Med. at USD 19,000 daily. – In the East, Noble has fixed M/V «Apj Shalin» 76,640 dwt, built 1989, delivery China 20-25 June trip via India redelivery Far East at USD 13,000 daily. – On smaller sizes, Sometra has fixed M/V «Hakufu» 26,682 dwt, built 1987, delivery France June 25-30 redelivery W. Africa at USD 15,900 daily. – On grain cargoes, Seyang has fixed M/V «Goldbeam Trader» for 54,000 tons of cargo loading July 1-14 US Gulf discharging Japan at USD 37.00 per ton with 11 days all purposes.
