TANKERS Quiet conditions on Aframaxes, but almost at steady levels in all areas. – In the Med., 80,000 tons of cargo liftings are fixed around W/S 200 while in N. Sea, similar-sized cargoes are fixed at W/S 150. – ExxonMobil fixed M/T «Braveheart,» loading July 25 N. Sea, discharging UKC, at W/S 150. – Vitol, from Baltic, for 100,000 tons, fixed M/T «Moscow,» loading July 30, discharging UKC, at W/S 142.5. – In Caribs, Navion, for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading July 21, discharging US Gulf, fixed M/T «Petrozavdosk» at W/S 175, while Conoco, for same cargo, loading July 24 with same destination, fixed M/T «Corcovado» at W/S 182/5. – Suezmaxes in N. Sea slow. – In Med., 145,000 tons of cargo out of Novo fixed at W/S 140, while W. Africa market is more active, with Sun fixing four vessels at W/S 150, destination USAC. – Out of Arabian Gulf, Vitol fixed M/T «Desh Shanti» for 135,000 tons cargo, loading July 20, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 112.5. Same charters with destination F. East have fixed M/T «Tromso Confidence» at W/S 147.5. DRY CARGO Capesize tonnage in Atlantic is strong with talk that over USD 80,000 daily is agreed for four front-haul trips. Tonnage is tight and there is talk charters are splitting cargoes from Tubarao to Ijmuiden, accommodating Panamaxes. East quiet at softer rates. – On T/C period, Cosco fixed Coeclerici tonnage ex-yard Namura April next year at USD 27,000. – Round-voyages: NYK fixed M/V «Lowlands Sunrise,» 175,600 dwt, built ’03, delivery China July 24-26, trip via W. Australia, redelivery UKC at USD 45,000. SMS has fixed M/V «Johnny K,» 174,000 dwt, built ’94, delivery China July 27-30 for same voyage, redelivery Spain, at USD 40,000. – Panamaxes in F. East: NCS fixed M/V «Gao Zhou Hai,» 69,952 dwt, built ’94, delivery July 19-24 for two years at USD 21,000. – In Atlantic, Noble fixed M/V «Georgia,» 63,308 dwt, built 1982, delivery Netherlands July 17-22, trip via Baltic, redelivery F. East, at USD 31,000. – Smaller sizes: IVS fixed M/V «Addu Moon,» 26,564 dwt, built 1985, delivery Mozam. August 1-10, trip via S. Africa, redelivery Med-UKC, at USD 21,500.
