New tax bill being fine-tuned

The government is considering improvements to the new tax bill’s clause concerning the 40 percent tax discount on home repairs, as the measure is not only an incentive for landlords who lease out their assets but it also places an additional burden on them, because it scraps the 5 percent discount on taxable income for taxpayers with rent earnings.

The Finance Ministry is also set to fine-tune the requirement that 30 percent of each taxpayer’s income be spent online, by exempting any alimony payments from the income according to which that percentage is calculated. There had been a strong reaction to the high demand for online payments.
