Minister Michalis Liapis…

Transport and Communications Minister Michalis Liapis touring a photographic exhibition on the olive tree yesterday, part of a special event where he presented the awards to the winners of the First Panhellenic Standardized Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. The top Strong Intensity Fruity Olive Oil award went to the firm Maria Rafteli & Co, based in Plomari, Lesvos. The runner-up was the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Siteia, Crete. Kritiki Gi, based in Hania, Crete, received the top Medium Intensity Fruity Olive Oil award, and the second went to Kalamata-based AGRO. VI. M. Twenty-one Greek firms participated in the competition, which was organized by the ‘Ways of the Olive Tree’ organization and sponsored by the International Olive Oil Council in June.
